This is Brunhilde. In Norse mythology she was the fairest of the Valkyries, the warlike goddesses-maidens who were sent to battlefields by Odin, the chief Norse God, to choose and guide the souls of Norse warriors who died in battle to his great hall, Valhalla, to spend eternity. Only about half of Norse warriors who fell in battle were chosen and taken to Valhalla and, in fact, the word Valkyrie means, βchooser of the slain.β
