STORY: Tris was 13 years old. Life was rough. Her family used to have a quite a bit of money before her mom spent it all. Now they had almost nothing. Tris also knew her mom hated her dad. The only reason they were married is because her mom had wanted her dad's money. Her dad didn't know that though. He thought Tris's mom actually loved him as much as he loved her. One day Tris can home after playing in the forest all day and there were police cars all around her house. (limit)

An officer walked up to her and said, "Hello, would you by any chance be Mr. and Mrs. Powers daughter?" "Yes, I am. Why? What happened?" Tris asked. "I'm sorry but your father is dead and we have to take your mom to jail." The officer replies. "Wait...what?! My dad is dead?! My mom is going to jail?!" Tris said, crying. "Yes, I'm so sorry. It appears your mom killed your dad. It'll be okay though. We'll find you a nice new family." The officer replies. "No! I don't want a new family! (limit)

I want my family or no family!" Tris yells, then runs into the forest crying. "I can't believe my dad is dead...and my mom is in jail...what do I do?" Tris said to herself, as she sat on a tree stump, sobbing. For the next few years Tris lived by herself in the forest. She decided if her mom ever got out of jail she would have nothing to do with her. But she knew that her mom getting out was highly unlikely. She missed her dad. (limit)

For the first couple weeks after his death she would cry herself to sleep every night. After that she would only cry at times when she really missed him. In the year she was in that forest she slowly improved using her powers. Eventually she was so good at using them that she'd just use them for fun. She'd teleport here and there just for fun and use her gravity powers to levitate objects and even herself. In a way she became stronger after the weakness she felt the day she lost her family(limit

She over came that weakness and gained strength from it. In a way she was thankful she had run into that weakness. Even though she missed her dad more than anyone could ever imagine she was happy that she had become stronger. He would have wanted her to be happy and become stronger so she could take care of herself. She had become stronger for him.
