Anime/Game: Touken Ranbu Character: Yamanbagiri Chougi Artist: だいこん(仮)(Pixiv)/@niseumigameno (Twitter) We have talked about this before and it has gotten my picture taken down before so in this post I won’t exactly be calling anyone out. Instead I am just going to explain a few things to some people; (cont’)

Artist: a person who produces paintings or drawings as a profession or hobby. (Oxford Languages) What is a recolorist? A person who Recolors the pictures on this website or imports pictures from other websites such as Pinterest. Are those two the same? No, not at all. There are some exceptions. Some people post their original art here and some people Recolor the colouring pages so beautifully that it would be considered original (eg. Lita Arguizoni) (cont’)

Now that that’s out of the way let’s sit down and talk about this (or you can stand). Last night, Specter, Kiki,... Lawnmower (?) and I did an experiment and we got the exact result we wanted. Word to word predictable defence and word to word predicted behaviour. (cont’)

Their defence was so weak it gave me brain damage. Claiming that we attacked them when they went on Kiki’s picture first was a very interesting argument. I was just there to watch it all unfold because Kiki and Specter handled it really well. A third party got involved and gave them some valid points too and I will keep them anonymous because I don’t want them to get harassed. (cont’)

The issue being addressed here is art theft. People like Lita Arguinzoni, 𝖀𝖓𝖆𝔸𝕣𝕥𝕚𝕤𝕥𝕒, Lightheart and Ash Jason have all the rights to the pictures they post in their gallery because it’s their original art. Now people that put their signature on someone else’s art is what is triggering. You may know the artist but that still doesn’t give you the right to sign it. (cont’)

Some of them are genuinely nice people and I even follow some of them but I don’t agree with this whole signing someone else’s art and claiming it as yours thing. Was the original artist consented before their picture was signed by you? It was funny to watch the hypocrisy because they got so upset over their “art” stolen (cont’)

I wonder how the artist would feel if someone screenshotted the signed picture and sent it to them. I don’t think they would appreciate it. I know Specter and Kiki won’t and they are both very talented. Specter has faced art theft before and it’s not fun when someone steals your original art and claims it as theirs. (cont’)

“Credits to the original artist” is fine if you don’t want to look for the artist, at least you admit that the art is not yours. But don’t sign the other artists’ work please and it should also be totally fine if someone screenshots pictures from your gallery that don’t belong to you. If it is your original work (collages, edits, drawings, photos that you took etc.) then that should be a different story. (cont’)

I use pixiv to find pictures and I would recommend using the app. Now I am sure many if not most of you are questioning “what the heck is ‘Pixiv’?” Pixiv is a social media service where users can post their works (e.g. illustrations, manga, novels) and receive much love and support! (Pixiv.net) (cont’)

So basically a community for artists. Everyone posts their original work their so it shouldn’t be a problem to find the original artist. Some of the artist’s also link their twitter and Instagram on Pixiv. It is like Pinterest but everyone there is original. So if you ever decide to download it make sure your 18+ settings are off because there is some stuff you wouldn’t want to see. (cont’)

With that being said, Screenshots from my gallery are allowed as long as you tag the original artist. Anyway that’s all I wanted to talk about. Have a great day everyone. (End) I know it’s a lot to read. Sorry guy ^^;)

I totally get that and more and more people are starting to sign pictures because they see other people doing it and it's like you may not be trying to take credit for their art but the fact that you signed it in such an obvious way makes it seem like you did. And what if the original artist saw this like how would u feel if someone signed your art? Seriously think about stuff like this (like I love a bunch of people on this app who do that but it does drive me a little insane)

(Nothing against the people I love so many of them like seriously and they like a large part of the people I talk to on this app mean so much to me so nothing against you personally if you do this)

@FairyTailfangirl22 same. They are so talented too but when I see them sign a piece it kinda makes me sad. And the fact that they encourage signing someone else’s art is just disappointing... I love these people but just why..?

I don't think I've had any of my original art stolen, yet. I don't think that signing someone else is art is right though. I mean if you didn't draw it...
