2 years agoYou asked me how I have so many people following me. I think several reasons. BE YOURSELF, CHOOSE AN ARTIST YOU LIKE, color and comment ALOT. in early stages, don’t try to get the top colorists interested in you. Choose people that you can learn from. LEARN NEW TECHNIQUES. GO to my monthly challenge calendar. Choose one that you know you can do… example CUTE AND FUNNEY, JEWEL CHALLENGE, ZENTANGLE (mine). Do easy ones, while learning harder ones. Never ask to be followed.

2 years agoTime, talent, kindness will get you noticed. Comment regularly with more than just “nice”. Don’t be overly effusive, but be interested. Example how I commented to you. I particularly like the face shading and illumination. I don’t know how old you are, but my followers/friends are older, so stay away from colorings that make you interesting to only teenagers. Do imports when you find an interest. If you find this on Pinterest, keep scrolling until you see rhings that are interesting, bold

2 years agoChallenges that might be good to try… Bird Challenge, Cute and funny, Color Challenge, Jewel. By doing challenges and letting the host know you posted one, you will be seen by lots of colorists. Folks usually follow colorists that join in the challenges. Be kind, analyze their work, comment without expecting anyrhing in return. Most of all, color the very best you can, post to the challenge and they will come to you. I do a challenge, prayer request, updates of friends needing prayer.

2 years agoDon’t be aggressive. There are a few bad apples that make people afraid to get too close. Learn how to color flowers from the best. Learn steampunk from the best, learn faces from the best, learn color choices from the best. It will pay off, I promise

2 years agoOne of my favorite artists is Josephine Wall. She is madly detailed, I don’t do many anymore because I have an eye disease that limits how much I can do. You might notice I haven’t don’t the highly detailed pieces for over a year. But I can recommend some artists. I also like flapper style, disco. I like animals. But never color a piece that isn’t crystal clear. I call it muddy where the images aren’t sharp.

2 years agoDon’t you try to start challenges until you get a very large following. Stick with doing other peoples challenges. I didn’t start a challenge for 5 years. Get good, get friends, get noticed before you ask for contests or challenges. My input is don’t use the word CONTEST. People don’t really like phase challenge and judging. That’s just my take. Do what feels right for YOU

2 years agoGo to my January Challenge Callendar, you will see ALL the challenges. Susan Bird does the bird challange and she is especially kind and encouraging. If you go to my gallery, I dedicated a picture to the 12 challenge hosts. It encourages folks to join and it made the hosts very happy.

2 years agoJewel Sunday, host Aleja. Footwear Thursday, host is Nellie, Friday Cute and funny, hosted by MS Fighter, , Tuesday Bird Challenge, hosted by Susan Bird.. (only 2 times a month.). when you go to the calendar picture, be sure to turn your device horizontally. I do a new calendar each month so we can keep track of the challenges.
