Don’t let the crayon tool stress you out!
It takes time to get used to.
I recommend taking a very simple picture and coloring it.
Put base colors on the object and/or person. Then use the brush tool to add highlights.
Focus on using the soft brush crayon.
If you find that you added more highlight/shadow to an area than you wanted, press and hold the crayon over the base color of what your working on and go over that area.
Test out different techniques such as taps vs lines.

Start off by clicking on a darker crayon color in a picture with no color.
At the top middle, you will see a circle. There are two circle options.
1. Circle with solid dot in the middle
L> This means you will draw a solid line
L> This is best for solid area such as if you make a item. Such as creating jewelry, etc
2. Circle with fuzzy circle in middle
L> This means you will make a soft line
L> This is best used for most everything. Such as highlights, blush, etc

Play around with the soft brush the most just because it’s commonly used.
Test things like drawing a single line. Then next to it draw two lines over each other. Keep doing this trend at least to 5 lines.
This will show you the effect of how layering with the soft works.
Selecting a color off page:
1. Place black as a color in only one spot
2. Go back to the crayon tool and select any crayon
3. Press and hold over the black color
4. Draw with crayon tool off to the side

1 year agoThank you for all your time and information! I would just be using the coloring tool for coloring as I can not draw! Can you put more than one color in? Like a bit of tan or beige and then a bit of peach color!

The crayon tool only can use 1 color at a time.
This is why I take smaller sections of the picture and use it as a crayon color spot.
Yes, you can add multiple different colors on top of each other!
I recommend making a color pallet to help. Then you can use your color pallet colors for the crayon color holding place.
It’s very handy and you get to control what the color is!

Creating a color pallet:
1. Open the picture you want to color
2. Tap the bottom right corner
3. Tap on My Pallets (bottom option)
4. In the first group tap a white circle with a gray outline
5. Use the color wheel to select the shade you want
6. Click the check mark to save the color
7. Chick the white circle with gray outline again to add more colors
There are a lot of groups you can make so you can designate colors by color itself, skin tones, background colors, etc.
