Hello everyone. Some time back I colored a picture from my house showing the smoke from fires. This is just a walk down from the house. That's EllaJ standing out in our largest reservoir in the South Bay. 8 miles long. No water. The earliest it will be allowed to start filling is 2030. This is our emergency drinking water. Nice to be back. JJ ๐น๐๐น

@tlmagโฎ๏ธ๐ป Believe it or not, when the US housing market crashed it did quite a number in California. During the housing increase the object was for cities to lure in new residents. So, Anderson Resevoir, was inspected and found by scientists to be unsafe. Thus prompting Federal and State funding to repair it. Which in turn would take many years and new residents of contractors and workers. Then the crash. The fed and state money was pulled and it will be paid for through our water bills. Cont.

@tlmagโฎ๏ธ๐ป I am friends with the person in charge of the project. She had said 2016 at the latest. Now, it's pushed back until 2030. I bought my home in 1998. I've seen the lake full maybe 6 times. Now, I hope to live to see it again. It's not just emergency drinking water. It's also where the Coast Guard picks up water to fight fires. We really could have used that help the last few years.

@Dariola The landscape is out of this world. We are so dry here. But, it's also beautiful at the same time. Thank you for your terrific comment. ๐น๐๐น

@Nysakasam thank you. The reservoir is so large that Ella does look so far away. But she's really not. Doesn't the Earth look so dry. It's crazy. We used to take our kayaks down from the house and walk them right onto the water. ๐น๐๐น

Yes, that earth looks like something from another galaxy. Of course, I have seen some National Geographic films from Africa and the likes that have this kind of drought, so I guess itโs not that unusual for dry earth. Iโm watching the Olympics this afternoon. Itโs weird with few people in the stands!๐โค๏ธ

@Nysakasam Thank you big sis.' I saw last night and left a few comments. She had gone through part of my gallery and left likes. What a memory you have. It was 2018 since shed posted something. I'm wondering about Sudy7 and EnjoyLife?

Both of them disappeared about the same time about 11 months ago. I miss them both. A lot of people have left in the last six months. My activity list looks totally different.๐โค๏ธ

@Revj L Thank you for you wonderful comment. I like that you thought of thought provoking. The resevoir isn't just our emergency drinking water, it's where the helicopters pick water up from to fight our local fires. Last year, I had to evacuate my family. Fortunately, my mom lives just 18 miles away. But, just seeing the cracks in the earth that have held water for so many years is thought provoking. Fantastic observation. ๐น๐๐น

Our Mother Earth is our home. We have a responsibility to care for it! Climate change must be acknowledged! Our childrenโs children and all yet to be born are dependent on our care @JewelsJ
