3 years agoChet Baker has many albums. The 50's were the peek of American Jazz. I listened to the whole album "Chet" while watching the light disappear and the stars come out. This is one of the few that I know of that is totally instrumental. He's considered one of the best male Jazz vocalists of that time, but his instrumental is sultry and lovely to listen too. 3 years agois Dave Brubeck's most well known song. According to Chris, who was there that day in 1959, the trumpet player needed to take a call. Dave said to the others, let's take five everyone. While Dave stood off to the side the drummer and bassist started improvising a grove that turned into "Take Five." The song was done that day as well as the whole album, "Time Out." The number one jazz single of all time. The story you'll read on the Internet is not what we learned with his son. It was spontaneous
