1 year agoI’m pretty sure I wouldn’t even try one to begin with! I’ve never known a person here who even tried a live oak acorn, but we have lovely native pecans.

1 year agoWell, I have gone back and read these comments. My mother in law used to make (LONG before i married her son, thank gawd) squirrel pot pie up in Ohio. And she bbq’d an armadillo down here when I was dating her son in 1973. He came back to college from Xmas break talking about it..said it was stringy and awful. I just sat with my jaw dropped that he even tried such a thing. I mean they carry bubonic plague, lol! Otherwise, Mom was a GREAT cook!

One year we were so broke my mom tried to cook carp for dinner. You know what they feed on … 🤮
It was so horrible even she wouldn’t eat it.
Back to dandelion greens out of the yard! 😂

1 year agoArmadillos….pretty sure it wouldn’t be found in all of them. And I’m also not 100% that that isn’t urban legend. But there ARE tasteless, stringy with little meat, and will TEAR ‘YOUR YARD UP!!!
