@Librocubiculari , there are layers of objects in one picture , you starts shading the first layer of objects ( in my post , you can see the sky, those little mountains / trees of different color ) with your desire color/s base on how much brighter or lighter you wish to shade , and you go on and on until you reach the top images ( objects) , the highlight of your artwork; this requires brighter( deep color palettes ) ex. Those red plants in my picture .

@Librocubiculari , colors are sometimes not available, you need to mix two colors and form another color , you can make it lighter or brighter just depending on how you like it . The way you do it ; mix the two colors , point your finger slightly to it ( device screen) it will give you another crayon , my advice , just go to google or you tube , it’s much easier to see the actual way of doing it with video . Hope I gave you even a little tips , this needs more practice for you to get comfy .
