@X•~Buddy/Veronica~•X he was looking for a way out I think. He didn’t want to actually kill buttercup, he just wanted to make her regret it. Once you gave him the excuse to not do it, he backed out. Not enough to stop obviously, but enough to keep going with empty threats until her mom came.

You’ll probably hate me for it and I hate myself for saying this but- I hope he doesn’t actually get hurt- I mean yeah he deserves to go to jail but- I don’t want him to get hurt

He should definitely be behind bars- anything to keep him from hurting more people- and I know that I’m not being very ethical when I say this but- I kinda want him to pay for what he did to buttercup- I want him to feel the same way she did
