“The Club” from In the Heights, AKA my new obsession, featuring actual perfect human Vanessa and “some dude”, in the words of Usnavi. Those yellow dots are lights, by the way. Tried to make them cool looking, since Usnavi says “I really like what they’ve done with the lights”. The words say: Vanessa, let me get the next one! Vanessa, let me interject some! The way you sweat, the way you flex on the floor, it makes me want you more! That eye took me sooo long though

4 years agoIf anyone else has listened to ITH and likes it, just so you know there are a million performances of it on YouTube. My favorites are: (totally against the rules) Why in the heights obc is best cast (horrible quality filming, but it’s the obc, so you’ve gotta love it. I actually hyperventilated when Christopher Jackson came out and screamed irl when Sonny showed up), the one by Regene Odon in 2018 (just really good. Sonny in it is amazing *screeee* yay. The hair through the hole in the hat is👌)

4 years agoThe third is the one by John W. north high school because Graffiti Pete is a dance god and had great hair. Some of the characters don’t look like how they are supposed to (Abuela and Vanessa are black, Benny’s white; actually, I don’t think Benny’s race was ever specified, they just said he wasn’t Latino), but it’s a school so it’s not like they can be like “hey you’re literally the best person for this role except you’re not Latino so no” and in the end it doesn’t matter because it’s great
