Beautiful birds hosted by Susan Bird โค๏ธR ๐บ๐ธ. The rose-breasted grosbeak, colloquially called "cut-throat" due to its coloration, is a large, seed-eating grosbeak in the cardinal family. (This picture was taken by a local wildlife photographer. I love how she captured this wonderful bird looking directly into the camera . I'm ready for my closeup now. )

2 years agoWhat a gorgeous rose-breasted grosbeak, Karen! Fabulous pose, fabulous coloring! We are privileged to see these beautiful visitors twice a year! Bursting with black, white, and rose-red, male Rose-breasted Grosbeaks are like an exclamation mark at your bird feeder or in your binoculars. Look for these birds in forest edges and woodlands.
