This is very annoying indeed. I don't understand people like that, I basically try to do something completely different ... and if someone has implemented my idea before me, I think about something else.
Unfortunately, I don't know what to do about it either. Maybe it helps if you write in the comment that it was stolen and everyone who notices it writes that too. Wouldn't be embarrassing for them

3 years agoFantastic. Screenshots are wrong!! Being inspired and crediting is okay. Copying with no credit is wrong!! Happens to me too. Luckily, other artists are quick to call them out, not that it really makes a difference β€οΈ

3 years ago@punkNβ I don't mind people being inspired by me, but taking screenshots and posting them as their own makes me so mad!! It happens to me on a daily basis it's so frustrating because most of the time I try to reason with them to take it down but they just delete my comments and block me. But wait, are you saying that someone got on the spotlight with a stolen artwork?? I'm confused, who? How??

3 years ago@punkNβ Ok I read all the comments and I understand what you mean now and I totally agree! Copying and not giving credit is just as bad as taking a screenshot and someone getting on the spotlight that way is all sorts of wrong!! I hadn't noticed it before but will look more closely from now on.

I looked again - this person has received at least three Spotlights in the last year, and has copied at least *five* of my originals, as well as three other well-known RCers in that same time period - some of those Spotlights were for copies on other peopleβs work.
They stopped copying *my* work when I started following them (I still do).
This is on ReColor, but there isnβt a way to report it and Iβm not on FB or other social media... βΉοΈ

3 years ago@punkNβ I'm so sorry!! I know how frustrating it is. I've tried to report people for posting screenshots of my work and the response that I've gotten from the moderators is that I didn't draw the template so they don't consider it stolen art, which makes no sense because all the shading and details added to the templates should count. So I believe that trying to report someone for copying on the actual templates would be a total waste of time too π’
