The Echidna is a small mammal found in Australia, New Guinea, South Wales, Kangaroo Island and is one of only two mammals that lay eggs, and Carries itโ€™s young in a pouch. Sometimes called a Spiny Anteater, it is actually not related but thought to be kin to the platypus. They hibernate in winter, eat aunts and termites, and have little protection against predators, though most deaths are caused by motorists.
