SHADING THE FACE
1. No matter what, the face has shadows. It has shadows around the edge of the face, in the sides of the nose, above the lip, on the chin, on the cheekbones, around the eyes, and the forehead. Use a shade at least two shades darker than the skin tone to draw these.
2. HOW TO FIND THE PERFECT CONTOUR SHADE—- take ur skin color and black and put them next to each other. Use a color that is in between both shades. Use this to contour. The same goes with highlight—

3. After you’ve shaded these areas, it will look weird. Find a shade in between the skin tone and the contour shade and use it to blend. To this multiple times and go closer to the skin tone each time. Don’t be afraid to make it dark. Once you add effects, its will look good.
BODY SHADING
1. All of the ‘tips listed above apply to the body as well.
2. Think about light and how it falls on objects. Think about shadows. The outer part of the chest and shoulders and neck lines all

4 years agoHave shadows. Then the lighter are wear the light falls. They are nearer to the center of the direction of the light.
3. Use the blending tips to blend again.
4. Think about shape and body shape. Like the chest for girls is round. How does light fall on a ball? Work from there.
CLOTHING
1. Use more than just colors for clothes. Use textures. Like above, I used glitter and silk. You can also do fur, cotton, fabric, 3D stuff, etc. think about light and shape for these too.
2. Shade how you—-

4 years ago—how you would shade the body on top of the clothes. Cloths fit the body so the same shape and light rules will apply.
3. Shade the folds. Clothing is not smooth flat or perfect. It folds if it is not skin tight like the dresses above. Shade the folds to show that shadow and light effect them too.
HAIR
1. Hair is pretty simple. After coloring in its hair color, use black to add shadow,= and white to show the hair’s shine.

BACKGROUNDS
1. Backgrounds can be argued as the hardest part. You don’t have to be over;y complicating and draw crazy scenes and such that recolorists like @Joyce do.
2. Some simple but very pretty background are, cloudy skies (above), sunset, fire (above), shade forest (as in its just a bunch of green), galaxy, bubbles, etc.—-

4 years agoOkay these are my HOLY GRAIL TIPS:
1. Don’t be afraid to use filters and effects. (I do suggest leaving the line on black, though) ppl say they are not skillful but using them is just using ur resources well.
3. Check back and forth between your picture and the effect u what to see how it looks.
