3 years agoI will tell you one story that effected my whole life but to live a better life. Ready It was the 101st Airborne Division with prayer and battle song pushed off into the country to fight the viet cong a new kid and I we often spoke of dad and mom as we fought a war to keep men free in far off Vietnam he came to this Recon unit just 24 hrs before I only got his first name no time to find out more as the first bullet struck above his eyes he uttered not a sound as his body hit the ground as he lay

3 years agoCold and dying he just pushed his helmet back his M16 still firing bullets till the final slug stopped his attack his picture made headlines back in the USA of some mothers poor dying son so very far away I to may die before I know just why this young GI who had no time for fun yet time enough to die please pass this on thank you again and thank a Vietnam Veteran

3 years ago@Can’tKillTheRooster🐔 what a heartbreaking story. Over the years I have heard so many stories such as this. We may never know all the “why’s?” In our lifetime, but rest assured there is a reason why indeed. All wars are terrible but I have always felt the Vietnam was far more terrible than the rest for both sides as we look back now. But as soldiers you had a mission without much of a choice and no thanks after the missions were completed. You did a big job in our history so stand tall & be
