4 years ago“SHUT UP!” She shouts. And then she’s running blindly. Away from him. His aggression and mansplaining and his “accidents” or his “blind nights”, “brief mishaps”. He always begged for her forgiveness. She always forgave him. He loves her. Not anymore... she reminded herself. She sprinted for the forest. The second she stepped inside time was suspended. Her sprint slowed to a brisk walk. The darkness began swallowing her...

4 years agoShe glances around. She doesn’t recognize a thing. All of a sudden silence fills the air. Not a sound. The hairs on the back of her neck stands up. She begins taking hesitant steps, all thoughts of him forgotten. She searches for the edge of the forest but it’s never ending. A sudden howl breaks the silence and her heart stops. A chilling fear fills her veins, spreading throughout her body... A sense of apprehension. The howl echos through the forest again...

4 years agoThis time much closer. The silence echos after the howl. Yet again. She’s frozen. Glancing around her. No sound... nothing. Not at all. She feels small tickling feelings around her feet. Glancing down, she sees tiny insects all sprinting in one direction... forward. Fear suddenly renders her mind useless, time is suspended and she can’t breathe for fear of making too much noise. Sound is sucked out of the forest except the small scuttling sounds of the tiny insects sprinting away...

4 years agoAnd then a claw like hand grabs her around her waist... she begins to scream but no sound comes out. She elbows the thing behind her... he doesn’t flinch. He growls softly against the nape of her neck... she is frozen with fear and all of a sudden something wet traces her neck- His tongue... “Tasty.” He murmurs. And then the world turns black.
