4 years ago@Patricia 🇺🇸 (Pat) You aren’t going to believe this. I could not have children either. I got married at 30 to a man divorced with two small children. A girl, Elizabeth, 2, and a boy, Kristofer, almost 1. The children were always dirty, had rashes, and then we saw bruises on their knees. One day Kris went crazy over a broom .... he couldn’t talk so marty asked her to try to tell him what was wrong. He couldn’t understand her, so he asked her to “show me Elizabeth.” NEXT

4 years ago@Patricia 🇺🇸 (Pat) NEXT. She was almost 3 years old. She put the broom a couple inches from the wall on the floor, and proceeded to kneel on the broom handle, put her hands behind her back, and put her forehead on the wall. Marty started to cry in disbelief, got them in another room and hugged them, took every broom in the house and they went in the yard and broke them and threw them away. Now we realized why they had mysterious bruises on their knees. NEXT

4 years ago@Patricia 🇺🇸 (Pat) NEXT. This is how they were disciplining those babies. We went to the attorneys the next day and they told us to keep journals, and he filed for custody. Within a month, she signed them over to him and that same day she dropped them off with two boxes. I was instantly a mom and scared to death. I took a few weeks off to get things set up for our new life. They called me mom soon thereafter. We made sure they saw the exes family etc and it went on for 22 yrs. NEXT

4 years ago@Patricia 🇺🇸 (Pat) NEXT. Elizabeth was close to her mother. Kris didn’t go to visitation very much at all. He didn’t want to go after age 6 much. Kris and I were very close. On my 22nd anniversary I filed for divorced ... husband had cheated. I was in despair, losing my children too I thought. But I had watched a tv show once where older people adopted a grownup who was in jail. So I asked the attorneys to look into it. If you had long step or foster relationship you could do it. NEXT
